About the Fragrance

Orphéon was introduced in 2021 for Diptyque’s 60th anniversary and was created by perfumer Olivier Pescheux. The fragrance is an olfactory portrait of Orphéon, a Saint-Germain bar where Diptyque’s founders gathered in the 1960s. Diptyque builds the Eau de Parfum around juniper berry, cedar, tonka bean, and jasmine, evoking the bar’s polished woods, powdery cosmetic traces, tobacco smoke, and lively nighttime atmosphere. The current fragrance remains an active part of Diptyque’s Eau de Parfum collection.

This fragrance is currently part of the Full Bottle Route fragrance archive.

Summary

Diptyque Orphéon is a warm woody-aromatic Eau de Parfum shaped by lively juniper berry, deep cedar, jasmine, and softly sweet tonka bean. Juniper gives the opening a gin-like aromatic brightness before cedar and jasmine build a polished, slightly floral center. Tonka brings powdery warmth and smoothness to the drydown without turning overtly gourmand. Its 6-8 wear bucket and moderate projection suit fall and winter nights for date nights, evenings, and going out. Diptyque continues to sell Orphéon, but FBR’s marked 75 mL full-bottle variant is currently sold out, so this listing correctly remains Archive.

About the Brand

Diptyque began in Paris in 1961 when artists Desmond Knox-Leet, Christiane Montadre-Gautrot, and Yves Coueslant opened a creative boutique at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain. Their shared interests in art, nature, travel, objects, and graphic design shaped a house where scent and visual storytelling developed together. Diptyque later expanded from its original design-focused shop into home fragrance and personal perfume while keeping that multidisciplinary approach. Its fragrances often translate places, materials, memories, and artistic references into compositions that balance recognizable ingredients with a distinctive sense of atmosphere.
